Senior Character Artist
(Full-time, Permanent)
Our team at Quantum Capture is growing again. We’re looking for a Senior Character Artist to join our mission of building industry-leading interactive digital human software. Our distributed team works together as one cohesive unit even while working from multiple locations. We offer an attractive compensation package with family benefits.
As a Senior Character Artist you will work with Quantum Capture’s clients and leadership team to develop high quality real-time digital characters, including developing lookbooks and translating client needs into high quality production-ready 3D assets.
Key Responsibilities:
● Developing photo-real digital characters for Unreal Engine applications;
● Creating MetaHuman characters based on specific design direction and technical requirements;
● Understanding and translating client’s character concepts into functional, optimized 3D assets;
● Modeling characters, wardrobes, props, and hairstyles using modern industry techniques and practices;
● Optimizing digital assets for efficient in-engine usage;
● Maintaining and enhancing the art pipeline by contributing regularly to technical meetings;
● Attending production meetings and engaging in ongoing communication with clients, management and the project delivery team.
Requirements:
● Demonstrated ability to create high-quality 3D character art with an emphasis on photorealism;
● Strong understanding of Marvelous Designer, Maya, ZBrush, Substance, Unreal Engine & MetaHumans;
● Strong understanding of the 3D art pipeline for Unreal Engine including character lighting and composition;
● Strong communications and interpersonal skills;
● Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while functioning as a critical part of our team;
● A passion for building high-quality interactive experiences;
● An understanding of Python, MEL scripting is an asset.
● Must be eligible to work in Canada
